KE3 Prompt-Writing Framework Cheat Sheet

What is KE3?
KE3 is a prompt-writing framework that guides knowledge-based interactions with ChatGPT through three structured phases:
- Knowledge Exploration
- Knowledge Enrichment
- Knowledge Exploitation
It is ideal for learning, research, innovation, strategy, writing, and teaching — where knowledge discovery, depth, and application are essential.
1. Knowledge Exploration
- Purpose: Discover new ideas, trends, variables, or foundational concepts.
- Use When: You’re at the beginning of inquiry, ideation, or unfamiliar with the subject.
- Prompt Starters:
- “Explore the main ideas of [topic]…”
- “What are the current trends in [industry/domain]?”
- “Identify emerging challenges in [field/context]…”
- Example:Explore the current trends and challenges in renewable energy adoption across Southeast Asia.
2. Knowledge Enrichment
- Purpose: Deepen, contextualize, and expand knowledge through comparison, integration, or analysis.
- Use When: You need more nuance, diversity of views, or detailed insight.
- Prompt Starters:
- “Compare [theory A] and [theory B] in relation to [situation]…”
- “Enrich this concept with real-world case studies/examples…”
- “How does [factor] affect [phenomenon] in different contexts?”
- Example:Enrich the topic of AI in education by comparing its use in low-income vs high-income school systems.
3. Knowledge Exploitation
- Purpose: Apply knowledge for decision-making, innovation, product design, or policy development.
- Use When: You want actionable outputs or real-world application.
- Prompt Starters:
- “Design a solution for [problem] using insights from [topic]…”
- “Propose a strategy to implement [concept] in [context]…”
- “Based on this research, create a framework/tool for [user group]…”
- Example:Exploit insights on digital learning behavior to design an app that supports daily study habits in university students.
Full Sample Prompt Using KE3
Explore how remote work affects employee mental health. Enrich this knowledge by analyzing differences across age groups and cultures. Then, exploit these insights to design a training program for global HR teams.
Bonus Prompt Template
